Practice Areas 1
What is Family Law?
- Dissolution of Marriage/Domestic Partnership
- Disputes concerning custody and children
- Domestic Violence
- Guardianship/Grandparent rights
- Obtaining and enforcement of support and all court orders
- Any other matter in the field of Family Law
Family Law is far from being limited to divorce cases. When we speak of "Family Law," we are also speaking of action to establish a parent-child relationship (paternity or Uniform Parentage Act), cases enforcing child support, or other provisions in an Order or Judgment. We are defending child support cases in governmental actions (D.C.S.S.), registered domestic partnership issues, guardianships, grandparent rights, adoptions, domestic violence restraining orders, and civil harassment orders as well as adoptions.
What Services does the Law Office of Latzer & Fleming offer?
Throughout the many decades of practice in the specialized area of Family Law, there has been virtually no aspect of involvement in which we do not have extensive experience. This includes obtaining emergency temporary orders, establishing custody, preventing child abduction, or otherwise protecting children or assets, as well as protective orders in Domestic Violence cases. It includes litigation of dissolution (and legal separation) actions from the simplest (where both spouses agree on all issues) to those that are complex and highly contested. It includes obtaining custody for grandparents in guardianship actions or visitation as provided by law. It includes step-parent adoptions and termination of parental rights. Yes, it also includes all forms of enforcement of existing court orders, modification of child and spousal support orders, and defense in individual or governmental enforcement actions for support.
